Two HOn30 Railbuses

The first is an etched brass kit from Aru Models (Japan). It's designed to use a Kato pocket mechanism, either the four wheel or the bogie type. I have it running on the four wheel kind at the moment but it would be easy to change in the future. I scratchbuilt a new floor to lower the body a little bit and to make room for a small snow plow on the front and a baggage compartment on the back. The VW railbus is a Roco model mounted on another Kato mechanism (11-103), which matched the wheelbase almost perfectly. The white bits are styrene angles glued to the side of the mech to hold the body level and centered from side to side. They will be trimmed and painted to be less intrusive. It was based on this railbus that runs (ran) on a logging line in Romania.
